In the town where I was born, lived a man who sailed to sea
And he told us of his live in the land of yellow submarines
So we sailed up to the sun 'til we found the sea of green
And we lived beneath the waves in our yellow submarine
We all live in a yellow submarine, yellow submarine, yellow submarineWe all live in a yellow submarine, yellow submarine, yellow submarine
And our friends are all aboard, many more of them live next door
And the band begins to play
We all live in a yellow submarine, yellow submarine, yellow submarineWe all live in a yellow submarine, yellow submarine, yellow submarine
Full speed ahead Mr Perkins, full speed ahead
Full speed ahead Perkins, hot potato, hot potato, alright go
As we live a life of ease (life of ease) everyone of us (everyone of us)
Has all we need (has all we need)
Sky of blue (sky of blue) and sea of green (sea of green)
In our yellow (in our yellow) submarine (submarine ah ha)
We all live in a yellow submarine, a yellow submarine, yellow submarineWe all live in a yellow submarine, a yellow submarine, yellow submarineWe all live in a yellow submarine, yellow submarine, yellow submarine
We all live in a yellow submarine, yellow submarine, yellow submarine

Rambling about my first thoughts
My first thoughts about my theme; "My life in a yellow submarine" were:
The Beatle's song which I always loved.
That some of my little students sing this song!
I have the CD - somewhere.
....but, WHAT WHAT WHAT is "my life in a yellow submarine" -
what does that MEAN? how can I sketch that?
Oh, it means nothing. It means everything.
We all live in a yellow submarine.
I had not EVER seen the movie "Yellow Submarine"
or read the book Yellow Submarine!
I really don't know anything except I like that song!
So,
I started thinking and thinking.
I listened to the song a few times.
I printed out the lyrics.
I started reading and reading.
Lots of info and comment on the Internet.
I checked out the VHS movie from my local library.
I showed it to my whole family - grown-up kids and their friends!
We had dinner and then all got cozy in the River Room to watch it.
We laughed about it - quoted favorite lines;
"I'm a born lever puller".
It's a crazy psychedelic cartoon!
and we talked about the story, the meaning, the submarine.
I had to order the book through inter library loan.
Yes, the book is much better than the movie!

The Art House Coop Sketchbook Project
Visit http://www.arthousecoop.com/ and click on sketchbook project to get a full description.
Basically,
I signed up to receive a sketchbook. I plan to fill it up with art, and send it back.
My sketchbook will be among thousands of others that were made by artists ( and regular people ) from all over the world.
Visitors will receive library cards and be able to view the books at exhibitions around the country.
The goal of the project is to create a giant collective of sketchbooks from around the globe and make it accessible to everyone.
Everyone receives the same moleskin sketchbook and is given a theme. My theme is:
My life in a yellow submarine!
